“It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.”– THOMAS FULLER
Fitting photo for upcoming photoshoot of model, Devon, in the Starry Nights Metallic chiffon maxi dress accompanied by the painting I am currently working on as the inspiration for Winter014 evening wear collection. The concept is the story of metamorphosis rooted in contrast in the day that slips into evening in an old, rundown farm land where the foundations of humanity remain but the flora and fauna have stood the test of time and flourished while the skeletons of industrialism scar the landscape- the corrosion of old technology under a blanket of constellations and silvery clouds.I drew a lot of inspiration by the primarily mood centered Academy Award winning animated short that i remembered from years ago as a child and just now found it online and saw it for the first time since I was young. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYEmL0d0lZE
The cattails, waterliles, the reflections of the water, and the decaying mill to the inhabitants of the land such as the the fireflies, the owl, bats, and the passing storm are all sources of inspiration.
