Digital Design

Tonight in my Digital Design, the final project of the semester was launched. Its a pretty big project encompassing technicalities in sewing, drawing, and mastering new softwares all at the same time. The task is to create 15 or more garments in technical drawings digitally as well as a manipulated photo “mood” board, tech sheets, as well as the refreshed illustrations that can be hand drawn and/or with digital accents accompanied with sew samples/evidence of 3-D design work.

I had an initial good start with the project because I want to use classical music as my inspiration- the different qualities, textures, and shapes of the wood and brass contrasted with the stark black and white sheet music implementing design from the classic tuxedo that the orchestra and conductor wear.

I’m kind of going in a different route now so the meeting with my professor didn’t go as well as I had planned. My ideas are kind of all over the place at this point because I’m going to sew half of the garments I’m creating on the computer/drawn out with a few materials I’m not used to working with nor am I sure my sewing machine can handle LOL

We’ll see, I have a lot of work to do and I need to focus on clearing up my ideas and how to express them visually.

  1. This is a great tip especially to those fresh to the blogosphere.
Brief but very accurate info… Appreciate your sharing this one.
    A must read post!

  2. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon
but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for
something unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  3. I’ll immediately seize your rss feed as I can’t find your email subscription hyperlink or
e-newsletter service. Do you’ve any? Please permit me recognize so that I could subscribe. Thanks.
